AP Concentration Submission

The idea of my concentration is to explore my love of forensics. I’ve been obsessed with forensic science since I was young and some people think it is strange, but it’s a wonderful thing. The feeling of giving back is what I feel when I am interning at my local morgue and taking photos at the scene. Our worst weakness is the feeling of the unknown and that can change someone. If I can do one thing to bring closure to a family that has suffered a loss then that is what I want to do.

I wanted to portray the feeling of calmness and happiness of life, like the calm before the storm (1). This young girl had everything, she was happy and enjoyed her life in dance (2 and 3). She just so happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, abducted and kept as a hostage (4). Her life was suddenly coming to an end as she stares down death (5). Her body rests upon her own missing flyers as her body waits to be found (6). She has been found and her precious last moments are under investigation (7). She has left her body and overlooks what she has left behind (8). The darkness represents the negative rumors spreading about the what if’s and what happened to her (9). The girls family and friends have accepted that her case won’t be solved and her story will never be known (10). The police escort the girl waiting to be laid to rest (11). Time has taken over her and is now known as a slate of rock (12).
